Can my car tow these campers?

 

These camper trailers weighs below 750kg so most vehicles can easily tow but we recommend you check your manual first.

 

 

Do the caravans have Electricity?

 

Yes they are powered by a 268Wh Bluetti lithium power bank which can deliver up to 600w 220v AC enough to charge laptops, routers and other light electronic devices on a sunny day, which is recharged by a 100W rooftop solar panel. The Power bank can however also be charged from mains AC with an extension cord that is already wired into the trailer when electricity is available on campsites.

 

 

 

What size is the bed inside?

 

It's a full size double bed with a thick mattress which converts to an L shaped couch during the day to comfortably sit or work inside with your head not touching the roof top even when roofop is closed.

 

 

What do I need to rent?

 

All our rentals are managed by kampi.co.za

They will need a valid driver's license with at least code 8(code B) and a credit or debit card

They will need R5000 deposit. 

They will also require you to submit a copy of your Identity Document and Proof of Address for FICA purposes. Payment are made via their website 

 

 

How do I pay the R5,000 breakage deposit?

 

 

Kampi.co.za will send a PayFast payment request to you.

You can pay the deposit in instalments; however, the full R5,000 needs to be paid 7 days before the start of your trip.

 

 

 

Why a copy of my Identity Document/ drivers license?

 

In the case of an Insurance claim, proper identification is required. 

  

 

What about linen? 

 

You bring your own linen and sheet. The is no need for a lot though because the walls are insulated.

 

 

What about cleaning? 

 

You will receive a clean camper. Generally, return it in good shape . We don't expect it to be completely clean. But a R200 fee may be charged if returned with tough stains requiring some special cleaning. Smoking inside the caravan is also not allowed. 

 

 

Speed and loading ?

 

Driving at high speeds while towing can be very dangerous especially if towing with a lighter vehicle. We recommend max 100km/h on tar and 60km/h on gravel roads. Upon collecting the caravan we recommend you ask the person handing over to explain safe ways of balancing the load in your caravan. 

 

What if I get a breakdown ?

Kampi.co.za 24/7 roadside assistance staff on 0860 50 50 50 and select the option for commercial insurance and use 22138 as the policy reference.

 

 

How does the insurance work? 

 

 

Kampi.co.za(our agent) is in partnership with one of South Africa's leading insurance companies so In case of theft or complete loss, your R5000 serves as a safeguard for insurance excess in the event of any claims made against damages. It will be utilized to cover any damages incurred, and any damages that go beyond the deposit amount shall be charged to the Renter. 

Kampi.co.za will impose a small insurance fee on the renter of R89 per day.

 

 

 What is the minimum rental period ?

 

The minimum rental period is 2 days

 

Can I get a refund if I return the camper early?

 

No, refunds are not given for returning the camper early. However, you can change your reservation without any fees before you start your rental.

 

 

Where can we park/stay overnight ?

 

Legislation prohibits parking overnight in a camper outside organized campsites, urban areas or informal settlements. The best approach is to find a reputable campsite to spend the night. 

 

 Pickup and drop off ?

 

Caravans are located in 15 high view place, Braelyn, East london. Contact us if wanting a different pickup or drop off 

 

Are caravans suitable do drive anywhere?

 

No, our caravans are not suitable for off-road or 4x4 roads. Only on smooth gravels where you would normaly drive your varage sedan vehicle.

 

 

Does camper stove comes with gas canisters & cutlery?

 

It comes with a cutlery set for 3, dish washing basins and pots and 1 full gas canisters which can last about 2-3days depending on use. Additional gas canisters can be bought on collection at R39 per can but are also available in most hardware stores and some retail shops like, ShopRite, game, checkers and more.

 

 

How do I shower?

 

To shower you heat up your showering water to your ideal showering temperature using the pots and gas stove provided. Pour your warm water to the shower holding tank then all you need is to you flip the waterproof switch inside the shower to get the pump running and water flowing. 

Waste shower water drains into the ground but can also be collected from outside the trailer using a bucket.
